Errands

Today is the day of my scheduled lab test for fiance visa at 4 bentinck mansions (kniggtbridge doctors) london. I went out early as im afraid to be late and having a penalty of 95 pounds to pay. Thats me nervous.

I rode the bus then had a walk. I finally found the place… it just looks… amazing

They told me to come back as i was too early at 8:45am. My scheduled time is 10:10am. So i decided to go for Hsbc and try to fix my bank issues. To which i was lucky i was able to get it all done.

I came back 9:45am and still early. But they already ask me to wait by the waiting room and the lady took all my documents. Which were 4 pictures, letter from the us embassy with the case number, passport, uk police certificate, vaccination record ( luckily i had this with me which was for australia application at first turns out it became handy now) , US medical questionnaire form ..then she let me answer a questionnaire for the doctor about current illness or hospitalization and stuff which i mostly answered i dont have them hehe.

After giving it back, i waited quietly at the waiting room. Then the nurse called me. She took me to a room and she checked my vaccination chart. She said i lack tetanus only so i told her ill just take the vaccine..which is 35 pounds.

After that injection she called the xray technician. To which i went to another room and did as told to remove my clothes and wear their gown. I had my chest xray done. Waah i saw my scoliosis huhu

Then the doctor called me already. And so she interviewed me with the questionnaire i answered. And it was easy all i say is i dont have any illness or surgery and i dont smoke or drink and i dont engage in sexual activity so i dont have stds. Then i said all i have is i do wear an eyeglass.

She then did the snellen chart to test my eyesight. Then she asked me to lie down on the bed as she did a full physical checkup. I did remove my leggings and socks too hehe luckily she was a girl doctor as i only have the gown on. She took my BP then took bloods.

After which she said go ahead and get dressed. Then she said we are done.if you havent heard from us for 2 days it means we will forward your result to US embassy.

She took me to the waiting room again and told me to wait there. Meanwhile another lady called me to go to the reception. And i paid a total of 250 pounds for medical exam plus 35 pounds for tetanus vaccine. She returned all my documents and wished me well.

I left Knightbridge doctors then i decided that i have time to get my bike in cambridge. I booked an off peak train to cambridge for 16.50 pounds. I rode the train and i met my old flatmate coincidentally… 🙂  i was so happy to see her.

IMG_20160201_195928

I went back to cambridge and was lucky my flatmate cooked some lasagna and it was perfect timing. After i ate it he escorted me to cambridge station to go back to london with my bike.

Then the challenge when i arrived London. At first i didnt have any idea as to how to get my bike upstairs to go out…so luckily i thought of looking for a lift. Then i was able to go out of liverpool street station. I had to walk and cycle my way back to my temporary house and it took 1 hour 10 mins.

It was a very productive day for me.im hoping ill be able to cope for my first shift tomorrow in my new hospital.

I thank God for making it all happen according to my plan for today.

day 3: The Shard and my own walking tour

The Shard is an 87-storey skyscraper in Southwark London.Standing 309.6 metres (1,016 ft) high, the Shard is currently the tallest building in the European Union. It is also the second-tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom, after the concrete tower at the Emley Moor transmitting station. The glass-cladpyramidal tower has 72 habitable floors, with a viewing gallery and open-air observation deck on the 72nd floor, at a height of 244.3 metres (802 ft). It was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and replaced Southwark Towers, a 24-storey office block built on the site in 1975. The Shard was developed by Sellar Property Group on behalf of LBQ Ltd, and is jointly owned by Sellar Property and the State of Qatar.

After that, my own walking tour begins from the London Bridge Station.

So we went to Guys Hospital (outside The Shard) and crossed London Bridge. (London Bridge aint so beautiful to be honest… the shows in tv always feature Tower Bridge as London Bridge but for real the one picture im on below is the real London Bridge, plain and simple)

July 2015 : nclex application update

I made a hasty decision yesterday. It kept my heart pounding hard and thenlast time i felt that was during having an interview for my post as a NICU nurse.

Update for my nclex application. I received an email at 21st of july 2015 stating that my education was approved on 20th july 2015 and a letter has been sent. It meant my cgfns is okay. And i can proceed with my application. This is early for me as im expecting it on August really but it came on earlier.

Making the hasty decision as ive said earlier. I proceeded headig over to pearsonvue website. Made an account ….Registered….and Paid 200 usd for the NCLEX RN test. After which i received an email stating to wait for approval as i will be receiving an email from them for ATT and then i can schedule my exam date.

To be honest i havent been reviewing. Working overseas…on my off days i spend it doing laundry, cleaning house, and my bedroom, going to grocery, cooking and preparing lunches for my next workdays … it ends the day off. Other days i would sleep in afternoon…as my body is catching up rest periods i missed last week due to hectic schedule.

I have to push harder and persevere .

My goal to study last night didnt work. My bf was laughing at me deep down i know hahahaha still im thankful he was supportive. Hoping him.to continue as im planning to think of another way for me.to achieve studying and going to work as well. So that my aim to take the test on last week Sept 2015 or early October 2015 will reach. My ultimate goal is to pass before i go back to Philippines for vacation on January 2016. But we shall see if its in God’s plan as well. And on my end i will work hard.

progress

Finally there is progress in my applications.

I went home today tired after a long day shift, but seeing this envelope made me alert, as if my tiredness was drained a bit…and i felt excited to open its content… its a letter from the NMC.

20150321_202653

opening the envelope, indeed it was the letter each of my ctn batch 1 friends and fellow batchmates are waiting for.  Once again, this is God’s answer to our prayers. I am so thankful and blessed to receive it tonight. I paid the registration fee of 153 pounds online following the instructions and i plan to send the envelope with final declaration on Monday.

Thank you Lord for this great news. This is something out of my hands and I knew in your perfect time, we will all become UK RN soon. To God be the glory ! 🙂

cadbury world and nclex application notarize

getting a decent notary here in UK is just hard. Its not like in Philippines where in I remember i only spent 40 php for notary public on my previous New York CGFNS documents. Here I told my friend i want to get my papers notarized before i go back to Cambridge as I saw the sign “yellow rose” here. And she cant help but laugh in disbelief at me.

I know to some a yellow rose, and seeing it in a flower store is not counted. i mean come on..its a flower store. but for me this counts. a yellow rose is hard to find. even on this bunch (previous blog entry) its just 2 pieces of yellow rose. hehe for a while i thought i prayed for a sign so impossible to find as my flatmate told me the otherday.

With my friend’s help i now realize that notary public here is expensive. 60 pounds is the cheapest. seriously! i also screamed but then again i have no choice. The first few ones i called to had their price stuck at 75 pounds, 80 pounds for just one paper to be notarized. and i was praying to God silently… 60 pounds please. because for me 60 pounds is already a lot. i have to budget for the coming two weeks of food already hehe. 🙂

luckily we were able to phone Anthony Blakemore, in Birmingham, through the internet’s help. Looking for his place was also difficult that instead of 10:30am, we reached his place at 11:40 am. thanks to GPS for helping us locate his place. it only took a very short time to accomplish my papers and its a good thing i brought with me the needed materials and evidences.

microMsg.1425402576273

my 60 pounds flew away just like that according to my friend as she was laughing but for me this was the first time i spent more than 20 pounds for myself that i realize its one of the best decisions i made.. trusting in God and in the right time he plans for me.

after that we headed to cadbury world in Bournville. Cadbury has bee na famous favorite chocolate brand all over the world. and my friend said its the tourist attraction in Birmingham.

20150303_125116    20150303_135652

and thats the cake decorating i miss… waah ,…. my other passion haha. 🙂

afiyo4veaiyzse67t638x5fgxn3m8fw86p4atrczmffa9c56h

it shows how Cadbury began and maintained its name through the years. and so far ive enjoyed this day.

By 5:05pm, i rode the bus back to Cambridge. My first trip alone to Birmingham is memorable for a lot of things have happened. I am thankful for having a friend like her who is so generous and kind to let me stay. I am thankful for the blessings that I am able to go to Birmingham safely and with the kind driver who let me ride the bus despite that i have missed the first bus. I might visit again this June as its the birthday of my friend’s son.:)
